In 2007 Mayumi won a meet and greet pass for The Cure, a backstage meet-the-band thing, and handed Robert Smith a handwritten love letter. It was in Poland, and it was very cold, and the concert was huge. Each country they played at on that tour saw a lucky fan or two meet them, and Mayumi had the prize for Poland.

She had seen them play for the first time at Fuji Rock in Japan, and fallen in love with Robert Smith's performance of "The Kiss", when Robert Smith changed his lyrics to "I wish I was dead". He looked like he'd been electrocuted. After that she went home to Sydney and watched Cure videos on her dad's computer for days and days.

The photo that is cover art for this album sits on her desk at home framed twice, but Mayumi didn't feel that was enough to remember them by.

So Mayumi has recorded these 4 gems written by The Cure and appropriated by Mayumi. Maybe Robert Smith will find this 4 track album and remember her and how happy she was to meet him.
